Carl Josef Bauer
We are proud to present this collection of over 150 original etching-plates by the artist Carl Josef Bauer (1895-1964). These dry point etchings are enhanced by lightly coloring by hand on the copper plate.
Carl Josef Bauer studied at the Academy of Arts in Munich under the professors Diez and Jank. In addition to other exhibitions he also exhibited in the famous Munich Glass-Palace. For ten years he was president of the Artists society Allotria. Most of its etchings were realized during the Art Deco period 1920 and later on.
