Karl Ewald Olszewski (1884–1965) was born in Czernowitz/Austria. He studied at the Munich Academy under Prof. Herterich and Prof. von Habermann. At the Baltic Sea he observed and painted the flight of birds landing and taking off. In 1931, internationally known, he became fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London. In 1937 he was honored with a gold medal at the Great Berlin Hunting Exhibition. In 1954 he received the same award in Düsseldorf. Karl Ewald Olszewski died in Munich in 1965.
