Defregger
Franz von Defregger (1835-1921) was born in Stronach/South Tyrol in 1835 and died in Munich in 1921. He studied at the Academy of Arts under Piloty. He painted the Tyrolean battle against Napoleon and created masterful compositions of the Tyrolean and Bavarian country life. Ennobled by King Ludwig II.
