Every handmade print is unique

Every print from the same plate will differ from the next to some extent, since one coloured plate only makes for one single print. Before making a second print, the plate has to be carefully hand-coloured and cleaned from scratch.

Deliberately adding or subtracting colour as well as carefully choosing the right paper not to forget the use of a manually operated printing press makes every print unique. This time-consuming technique is our tradition and used in the workshops of Kunstanstalt Hanfstaengl since 1870. We guaranty every of our images is made with the techniques described above!
