Prints
Any engravings, gravures or etchings are printed from the antique copper plates on to hand torn laid paper. The colouring of the plates is done by hand and then the plates are pushed with a pressure of 12 tonnes against the laid paper. By this pressure a visible and tangible embossing occurs. The unprinted area around the motive is left untouched and frames the picture like a passepartout. Learn more about the art of copper printing in our workshop here.

For your viewing convenience, we decided to show most of the pictures without their margins, which is in fact between 7 and 15 cm wide. Dimensions listed in the detail view of a picture give you both figures: The dimensions of the picture (Print) and the dimensions of the whole laid paper sheet (Sheet).
